In the footsteps of the Polish liberators' tells the story of the tens of thousands of Polish soldiers who fought in WWII.  Their motto was 'for your and our freedom'. They liberated Breda and the surrounding area in October 1944. They then liberated large parts of eastern and northern Netherlands.

Adrift since September 1939, Polish soldiers harbored the hope of iberating their own homeland.



But they were disappointed. Many lived in exile for decades in various countries in Western Europe.

This film follows the Polish general Stanislaw Maczek (1892), who died in Edinburgh at the age of 102 and is buried at the Polish military cemetery in Breda. His life story is a model for what many Polish men of his generation experienced.
